What's public

A DDID is an NFT in your wallet whose metadata contains your Discord username. Anyone who looks at the wallet on a block explorer can see it. Everything that wallet does while holding the DDID is publicly attributable to you.

That's the point: it lets people find and pay you by name, and lets anyone verify that a wallet really belongs to the Discord account it claims.

Keeping your other wallets private

Use a dedicated wallet for your DDID. Fund it from an exchange, not from a wallet you want to keep separate — on-chain transfers between two wallets link them permanently, including the very first deposit.

To move funds out without linking, withdraw to an exchange. A DDID wallet can't move tokens without a small amount of the chain's native coin (ETH or SOL) for fees, so keep a little there.

Looking someone up

DDID holders can look up a Discord name to find the wallet it pays to, or a wallet address to find the Discord name behind it. Lookups are exact-match only, rate-limited, and require you to hold a DDID in a wallet you've connected.

A lookup only ever returns a wallet that currently holds the DDID it was issued. If someone has several DDIDs on a chain, the most recently minted one that they still hold is the one that resolves.

Revoking a DDID

Transfer the DDID out of the wallet (on Solana you can also burn it). DDID lookups and payments by name stop immediately — a DDID is only valid in the wallet it was minted to.

This does not erase history. The wallet's past activity remains publicly attributed to you on-chain and in explorer archives. Minting a new DDID to a new wallet makes the new wallet the one that resolves.

Deleting your data

Deleting your data removes your account and identities from DDID's systems, and unpins the metadata and images of every DDID ever minted to your account from DDID's storage. Mint records are anonymized rather than removed — the serial number, chain and token stay on file (so no serial is ever issued twice) while your identity and wallet are erased. Payment records are kept in anonymized form as financial records.

What happens to your DDID NFTs: all of them go dark. Each token's metadata and image are no longer served, so they stop displaying in wallets, marketplaces and explorers, and they stop resolving in lookups and payments. This is not just the most recent one — it is all of them, and it is permanent.

What it cannot do: DDID has no control over tokens in your wallet, so the NFTs themselves are not destroyed and blockchain history is not altered — the hollowed-out tokens remain in your wallet, and past activity stays publicly attributed to it. Copies of your metadata that others have already fetched are also out of DDID's reach. To remove a token from your wallet, transfer it out (Ethereum / Base) or burn it (Solana) yourself — ideally before you delete, while the site can still show you which tokens you hold.
